the chance to enhance your employability and gain valuable industry experience, we offer a range of overseas internship opportunities.

Intern Canada

You will be based in Vancouver, British Columbia for 1-6 months, with opportunities in Event Management, Office Administration, Social Work and more.

Intern USA

Nationwide opportunities in Business, Human Resources, Science and Law, living and working in the States for 1-18 months. You can opt for one of two packages: a ‘self-placement’ programme, pro-actively sourcing your own internship, or a ‘full-placement’ programme, where BUNAC source an internship for you in New York or Chicago. The ‘full-placement’ programme is fully-supported, with accommodation, in-country support, social events and career progression events included.

Intern Australia and Intern New Zealand

Opportunities in established industries such as Communications, Travel and Tourism, Hospitality and Architecture. Internships are available for 1-6 months in both countries.

Are you the BEST?

Considering postgrad study in the US or Canada?  Investigate the BUNAC BESTdollars scholarship offering sums between £5,000-£10,000 to students for extracurricular activities that will better your cultural understanding of the country you’re studying in. However it’s not to be used as a prime source of funding to pay tuition fees etc. 

You need to be a student or graduate from a UK university, have already applied for a postgraduate course in the US or Canada, and hold a UK passport. 

UK Scholar and Postgraduate Awards for study and research in the US

The US UK Fulbright Commission offers a variety of awards for individuals to pursue study, research, and teaching in any academic subject at any US higher education institution.

Frank Knox Fellowships 2016-17

Would you like to study at postgraduate programme usflag_fulbrightin the USA?   The Frank Knox Fellowships provide full-funding to enable British citizens who are graduates of British universities to undertake graduate study at all the schools at Harvard University. In addition to applying for a Fellowship, you will have to make a separate and independent application to the programme(s) of your choice. A Frank Knox Fellowship carries no guarantee of admission.  You must be a British citizen when you apply, and normally resident in the UK.

Scholarships to study in North America

piggybankThe BEST (BUNAC Educational Scholarship Trust) Scholarships offer financial assistance to British students who are looking to undertake postgraduate study in North America. A number of scholarships are awarded each year from a fund of £50,000 and preference is given to those whose proposed study in North America is likely to do most to further transatlantic understanding and/or to those who are required to go to the US or Canada to do a specific course. 

Thouron Award for postgraduate study at the University of Pennsylvania

Up to TEN Awards, each with a total value of approximately US$80,000 per year, covering tuition fees and living expenses, including travel in the USA, will be available for British candidates who wish to pursue a postgraduate course of study at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.

The University of Pennsylvania is one of the leading Ivy League institutions in the United States of America and offers a wide range of postgraduate course in Arts & Sciences, Communication, Dental Medicine, Education, Engineering & Applied Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Social Policy, Veterinary Medicine, and all aspects of Business Management at the prestigious Wharton School.   Further course details are available at http://www.upenn.edu/provost/graduate_admissions.  The Awards were created by Sir John and Lady Thouron for the promotion of academic exchange and experience in international friendship between the UK and the USA.
