A 3 day free IT conference with a theme: Information technology: Breaking Barriers from 2-4 November 2017. The event is open to Brunel students who have an interest in or are studying towards a degree in the business or information technology discipline. There will be a keynote speech by John Morton (CEO of CPM and a founder to three technology start-ups), talks and workshops that are industry-focused and interactive, on a wide range of industry subjects and topics: Cyber Security & Your Digital Footprint, GDPR, Agile Delivery, Big Data, Software Development, Develop Hub, Hackathon, Web Site Design Workshop and a CV clinic. The conference is supported by the British Computer Society (BCS) who have contributed speakers.

Tickets are free and the event is open to any female arts student or woman wanting to work in the arts. Sue will offer advice to women wanting to work in the arts and discuss the future of a diverse cultural landscape.
The one off University Women in the Arts scheme was set up to address why more women study the arts but less women work in the arts, particularly in artistic and leadership roles. Last year’s UCAS figures showed 63% of arts students in the UK were female, but Tonic Theatre, British Theatre Consortium and Freeland Foundation figures have shown only around 30% of female playwrights, directors and artists are female.
