Constituency Campaigner Programme

Volunteer opportunity for students and graduates

Oxfam is a major international development charity and campaigns on the structural causes of poverty. We are currently recruiting for volunteers to join our Constituency Campaigner Programme.

The Constituency Campaigner Programme offers the chance to develop political campaigning skills and to use these to influence local politicians and other decision makers on issues related to domestic and global poverty such as inequality, tax reform, refugees and family reunion. No previous experience is required but a genuine passion and commitment to improving the lives of those living in poverty is essential.

If successful, volunteers take part in our Induction Day Training, have the ongoing support of Oxfam staff, receive updates and campaign actions designed to help them engage and influence decision-makers on Oxfam’s campaign issues. The Programme is particularly suitable for students in politics and international development but is open to anyone who wants to gain influencing skills and campaign for a more equitable world. The role is home-based and requires the commitment of, ideally 1-2 hours per week, but a few hours a months would also be accepted as we appreciate things change from time to time.

For more information and how to apply please complete our online form via our webpage www.oxfam.org.uk/ccp. Successful candidates will be expected to attend a full day’s induction training – one will be held in London and another in Manchester. Travel expenses to this training will be reimbursed in line with Oxfam’s volunteer policy.

Closing date for applications is 24 September 2017.
