Participation: key to success?

handholdingkeyDid you know that Brunel has just received national recognition for its Widening Participation Programme when it was cited as an example of best practice by the Government’s Office for Fair Access (OFFA)?  OFFA’s annual report stated ‘Brunel University’s approach … focuses on employer engagement to improve job prospects, including a programme of mentoring for undergraduates by professionals who work in a sector or industry related to the student’s subject or career aspiration.’

Open to L2 and L3 undergraduates there are two strands to the Programme which runs from November-May:

  • Ethnic Minority Undergraduate Scheme (EMUS) is targeted at students from an ethnic minority background
  • WP Professional Mentoring is aimed at students from other under-represented groups

If you would like to take part in the next Programme you can find out more and how to apply at www.brunel.ac.uk/about/administration/access-and-widening-participation/brunel-university-mentoring-programmes.
